FOSTER UPDATE: Monte is a handsome, exuberant dog with the last shreds of puppy hood. Monte is slowly gaining self-confidence and will take a nap in his crate or on his doggie bed on his own. He is startled by loud noises and voices and doesn’t like to go outside in the dark. Monte is sharing living space with two other greyhounds and one mixed breed. Recently, he interacted with several doggie guests. Observation suggests that Monte will do best with dogs that are more than 60 lbs. He is learning about rabbits and javelinas outside the fence and, based on his level of interest, his foster mom suspects that Monte is not cat or small dog safe. Monte is crated – reluctantly - when he is left alone for more than four hours. Because he had a broken right rear hock, short walks work better for him. Monte would do best in a quiet home with another greyhound and a family or individual that is home a lot.
