Article: What Greyhounds do on Vacation

A Day in the Life at Greyt Escape

Early AM

I woke up really early this morning and I’m HUNGRY!  That human is sleeping but, I think I will kiss her in the face and wake her up.  Yup!  That worked!

First, outside to potty and enjoy the morning air.

It’s breakfast time; I wonder which bowl is mine?  That’s the one because she’s calling me to it!  (I’m so excited I can’t stop wagging my tail….)

Mid-Morning

I guess I’ll take a nap in the sun.  Mornings are exhausting.  I love the door made special for dogs. I don’t have to tell anyone when I go out because we have a special yard just for dogs.  There is even a doggy hammock!  Whenever I go in and out, she rubs my ears and says “Good Boy!”

...Was that the fridge?  Treats! My favorite! Uh oh……all the other hounds hear it too. Better get in there before I miss my treat! We get yummy homemade dog biscuits and muffins….mmmmmm

Afternoon

Time for another nap.  Which bed do I want?  Maybe the couch?  Or the big squishy one in the office I hope I get to it first….I think it’s for the humans but, I like it just fine. I better sneak down the hall before another hound beats me to it!

Mid-Afternoon

Snack time again?  Whoo Hoo! Oh wait, better stretch first. Maybe I need just one more nap afterwards.

Evening

The other human is home! We’re so excited!  I can’t get to him fast enough!  Oh yah. Lots of ear-rubs, belly rubs and even kisses!  Hey now, wait a minute…..why are we putting on muzzles and leashes? Where are we going?  It’s a bigger yard! I can run all over!  Phew, I’m exhausted.

Dinner time finally. Out for one last potty and to bark at the rabbits. Bedtime. What a day. This is fun! Guess I better rest and get ready to do it again tomorrow!
